History

The Peninsula Golf and Country Club golf course is the only Donald Ross designed golf course on the West Coast. The first course, laid out by Tom Bendelow, once hosted Harry Vardon and Ted Ray in 1913. Club President Walter Stettheimer secured additional land and the services of Donald Ross in 1922 to completely redesign the course. During a major remodel in the 1990’s, the Club used newly discovered photographs and drawings, coupled with state-of-the-art drainage and irrigation, and restored the Donald Ross designed golf course in 2001-03, preserving a Golden Age Classic course.

Programs

At PGCC there are opportunities for every golfer, regardless of skill level. We have several established golf groups that members can join to participate and compete with on a regular basis. These groups have organized playing times, with many opportunities to play in tournaments and fun events. We also strive to foster our young golfers with our summer camps and clinics. Our aim is to encourage and support those learning the game and we have a full teaching staff to enhance your skills and ensure your full enjoyment of the course.
